Hi, we're Valentina and Karlo. We're not just the founders of Courtiplay—we're players, club managers, and sports enthusiasts who got tired of the same old problems.
As managers of two tennis clubs, we saw the daily struggles: endless phone calls for bookings, manual membership tracking, players struggling to find partners. As players ourselves—former professional volleyball players, competitive tennis players, and passionate padel enthusiasts—we experienced the frustration firsthand.
The Problem We Couldn't Ignore
We watched players in other countries enjoy seamless booking experiences, vibrant communities, and apps that made playing sports effortless. Meanwhile, in Slovenia, we were stuck with outdated systems, fragmented communities, and missed opportunities to connect.
We knew it didn't have to be this way. So we decided to build something better—not just for us, but for every player, every club, and every sports enthusiast in Slovenia.
From Simple Tool to Sports Community
Courtiplay started as a simple solution to our own problems. We needed a better way to manage our clubs, so we built it. We needed an easier way to find playing partners, so we added it. We wanted to track our progress and compete, so we made it happen.
But something bigger emerged. What began as a booking tool evolved into Slovenia's first sports social network—a platform that connects players online and brings them together offline. Our mission became clear: Less scrolling on screens, more sports on courts.
With our background in technology and startup management, we combined our technical expertise with our deep understanding of what players and clubs actually need. The best ideas come from those who live the problem every day.
